“Modal Resonance Calculator v2”

For anyone wishing to acoustically treat a room, you need to know which frequencies are being modified by the room and Modal Resonance Calculator v2 can tell you! Version 2 features full modal analysis calculations (Axial, Tangential and Oblique) and can be used to calculate modal resonance frequencies which will change your perception of audio in a room of a given size. The modal spacing calculator also can be used to calculate the depth of a tuned resonant panel absorber for any given frequency - the next step in making the acoustic performance of any room more stable.

In addition, the software also calculates:

Room Volume
Room Surface Area
Mean Free Path Length
Critical Frequency

The Modal Resonance Calculator is available for £2 and comes in both mac and windows flavours. Your £2 gets you the .exe (win) or .app (mac) file (please put your preference in the seller comments box at checkout), a manual explaining what the software can do and a nice email from me portraying my gratitude.

Please use the ‘Add To Cart’ button to purchase via PayPal. I will then provide you with a download link for your software.

“RT60 Calculator v2”

For anyone wishing to acoustically treat a room, the RT60 Calculator v2 is a must for calculating how much absorption is required to achieve a desired level of natural reverberation in a room. RT60 Calculator v2 can be used to calculate the amount of time sound will be present in a room as reverberation after the sound has stopped. It then displays this information in both numerical form (seconds) and in a visual form (bar graph). Just put in the room dimensions and you’re away! It supports the modelling of a room with a door, a window and an optional amount of porous absorption too. You can enter absorption coefficients manually or copy / paste them from the web.

The RT60 Calculator is available for £2 and comes in both mac and windows flavours. Your £2 gets you the .exe (win) or .app (mac) file (please put your preference in the seller comments box at checkout), a manual explaining what the software can do and a nice email from me portraying my gratitude.

“Feedback Trainer”

Practice recognising different frequencies with this free piece of software inspired by the Simple Feedback Trainer. This is useful for tuning feedback recognition skills necessary when working in the live sound industry to stop feedback frequencies by using a graphic equiliser. It is also a useful skill for any sound engineer, to be able to recognise frequencies in a certain range or at a specific frequency.

Feedback Trainer will always be available free of charge due to the work of Ian Gregory and David J Taylor on Simple Feedback Trainer being released for free. I created my Feedback Trainer as there was no specific Mac feedback training software available - until now!

Feedback Trainer allows you to select a frequency range to be tested over (which allows you to taylor the frequencies produced to your sound system / headphones and also offers the option to generate specific frequencies for you to familiarise yourself with what each band sounds like.

“PAG and NAG Calculator”

The PAG and NAG calculator can be used to calculate whether or not a sound reinforcement system is likely to suffer from ringing or feedback problems, based on the distances between it’s various elements. All distances are in meters.

The PAG and NAG Calculator is available for FREE and comes in both mac and windows flavours. Use the download links below to get it...
